Girls of the Road (1940)
Overview
The story of an eclectic group of women - tramps, ne'er-do-wells, innocents, fugitives, the once-priviledged, and all down-trodden - either running from or toward something, but who find they must support each other as they hitch-hike their way across Great Depression-era America in search of an increasingly elusive decent life.
