Raimonds Pauls (1936) is the most prolific and one of the most well-known Latvian composers of popular music. Pauls is a skilled jazz pianist and he is credited for noticing talent in many new singers, as he has been the musical producer of several musical ensembles and spearheaded the careers of many popular singers.
