Mengü Yeğin

Biography

Mengü Kazım Yeğin was born on January 1, 1935 in Istanbul. At the time, he was known as Mengü Yetkin. Yeğin was a cinematographer, the nephew of director Metin Erksan and the husband of film actress Gülen Kıpçak.

In 1955, he was among the founders of the Cinema Workers and Technicians Union. Between 1967 and 1970, she served as the president of the Sine-iş Union. In 1975, together with prominent names such as Hülya Koçyiğit, Murat Soydan, Ümit Utku, Emel Sayın, he took part in the board of directors of the Film Industry and All Artists Empowerment Foundation (Film-San) in Beyoğlu. He took one of the most important steps of his career in Metin Erksan's Sevmek Zamanı (1965). The set photographs of the movie were taken by Metin Erksan and Mengü Yeğin. Among the important films he worked in are Yılanların Öcü (1962), Sevmek Zamanı (1965), Turist Ömer Arab'da (1969), Turist Ömer Cannibals Arasında (1970) and Şalvar Bank (1986).
