Biography

Seiya Sanada, better known by his mononymous ring name SANADA, is a Japanese professional wrestler signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) who debuted in 2007 for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW). He is a one-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, holding the longest reign at 271 days, a one-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, a three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion, and a three-time NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion alongside BUSHI and EVIL. Additionally, SANADA won the World Tag League in 2017 and 2018 with EVIL and captured the New Japan Cup in 2023.

He has also received recognition from Pro Wrestling Illustrated, being ranked No. 11 in the PWI 500 in 2023, and won the Tokyo Sports Best Bout Award in 2019 for his match against Kazuchika Okada on October 14 at King of Pro-Wrestling.
