Biography
Mike Hailwood, born on April 2, 1940, in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England, was a legendary British motorcycle racer and Formula One driver. Known as "Mike the Bike" for his extraordinary talent on two wheels, Hailwood won nine motorcycle Grand Prix World Championships and 14 Isle of Man TT races. He later transitioned to car racing, including Formula One, and achieved success in sports car racing, notably winning the 1972 Le Mans 24 Hours in his class.
Tragically, Hailwood passed away on March 23, 1981, in Warwickshire, England, following a road accident near his home. He remains one of the most celebrated figures in motorsport history.
