At the Rosa B. Williams Center in downtown Gainesville, community members come together for an evening of swing dance. The best thing is the community — you come here to dance, maybe to learn for a wedding, but you end up making friends. Most of us hang out outside of this together frequently.
The biggest difference here is the people. We've grown a lot bigger over the years as more people come to our events and discover us. It brings together all different backgrounds and experiences every Thursday night.

Alachua County Fire Rescue Station 80 has a new home, relocated to Southwest Gainesville. Deputy Chief Jeff Taylor explains how every detail was designed to improve safety and efficiency.
The station includes upgraded fitness areas, air filtration systems, and decontamination zones separating living quarters from gear. Officials say the relocation shortens response times and gives crews modern tools to protect residents.
Taylor describes improved bunker gear washing systems, living comforts, and garage-style roll-up doors. New developments like Parker Place and Oakmont previously had ISO ratings of 10, meaning high insurance rates. The new station significantly improves coverage.
